"FOAL TO LAUNCH DEBUT COLLECTION MOTEUR! '22 FOR CREATIVE KIDS"

Inspired by a French cinema cult classic, kids label Foal releases their debut collection Moteur! '22 on April 1st, a vivid, chic and unisex collection for all creative little souls from 18-months to 8-years-old.

Moteur! '22 includes pint-size rally driver jumpsuits, ultra-luxe bamboo fleece trackies, natty balloon trousers and classic chore coats, and to top it off, fun kid-approved features like easy-pull chunky zips and secret pockets.

At first glance the collection references the world of Louis Malle’s 1960’s Parisian odyssey Zazi Dans le Métro, sporting cute illustrations of cheeky kids, acme magnets and manic city traffic. But there’s an echo of the film’s experimental cinematography in Moteur! '22 as well - the designs play with scale, colour, form and texture much in the way that Zazi is brim-full of jump cuts and film speed gimmicks.

Foal’s new range aims to inspire the little auteur in your household, and remind us all that childhood deserves good style - but parents may also find themselves daydreaming about the butter-soft buttercup yellow track pants and soft pink chore coats. The label’s work is very much of the moment - and not only with their focus on short-runs, high quality construction and workwear silhouettes. Moteur! '22 proudly showcases original artwork, local embroidery and screen-printing, and ethical production using deadstock (textile mill overruns).

As a small batch label, Moteur! '22 is available in limited numbers entirely from www.foal.co.nz from April 1 ("April Foal's Day").

Foal is a Grey Lynn mother-daughter business founded by designer Colleen Davis and maker Suzanne Davis. Producing ethical, heirloom-quality, comfortable pieces that kids will love to wear and parents will covet, Foal's clothes are bought once, worn forever.
